Professional info​

Since I began my time at NCSU, I have been involved in two research labs, one industry internship, and one internal internship in business development at NCSU. The linked resume goes into these experiences in detail. My educational experience is also attached. I currently am an ABM student, which means I am finishing up my Bachelor of Science degree while pursuing a Master of Microbial Biotechnology. These experiences are described below.

2017 - 2021

 

My major at NCSU was Microbiology with a minor in biomanufacturing. My major electives have focused in upstream biomanufacturing, virology research, and the basic microbiology curriculum.

The Master of Microbial Biotechnology program bridges the biotechnology industry with business to help solve real industry problems and assist industry with bringing product to market. 

Scientific Experience 
Center of Aquatic Ecology at NCSU

2019 - Present

 

At the Center of Aquatic Ecology I serve as a lab assistant. My duties include lab management, autoclaving lab materials, collecting samples for examination, conducting total nitrogen digestions, preparing media, feeding algae, handling toxic waste from experiments, assisting in research, and some educational outreach. Medicago

​May 2019 - August 2019

 

During my internship at Medicago, I served as the Microbiology Quality Control intern. My duties included environmental monitoring, water sampling, sub-culturing, conducting conductivity test, endotoxin tests, bioburden, system suitability, GMP documentation, and  total organic carbon analysis. I also contributed to the organization of an EMPQ used for quality control when filing for FDA approval. A full view of my experience can be seen on my resume. 

NCSU Research Assistant 

​August 2019 - Present

 

I currently work with Dr. Frank Scholle in his virology lab at NCSU. We have conducted research on zika, dengue, and coronavirus since I began working with him in August 2020. We currently test multiple chemical compounds for their ability to inhibit a certain viral replication in several cell lines. In the future, when compounds are approved to show efficacy, we will conduct cytotoxicity tests to determine the toxicity of the drugs. Currently, I am conducted my own research on commercialized CBD and its role in inhibiting COVID-19.  A full view of my experience can be see on my resume. 

Atom Bioworks Process Development Intern 

May 2021 - June 2021

During my internship at Atom Bioworks, I served as the Process Development intern. My duties included basic lab maintenance, scale-up of DNA nanostructure formation experiment, update and created SOPs, and developed several stability tests. I also contributed to the organization of the team by connecting the group with several academic laboratories and other supply facilities for their expertise in our product.

Business Development Experience

August 2020 - Present

 

I am currently working with Deborah Thompson on a project called the Specialty Crop Improvement Program. My portfolio while working with Deborah includes a partial white paper, several business briefs, a calls for collaboration, and a SWOT analysis. These will be posted on the site as soon as the internship concludes. 

MBA 570: Opportunity Evaluation and Value Creation
Fall 2021

 

During this course we were tasked with creating a product and devising a go-to-market strategy for the product's success. Below, the feasibility analysis and presentation can be found. 

MBA 585: Trends in Current Pandemics 

Spring 2022

 

During this course we were tasked with investigating a current trend that affects the bio-tech industry. Our team chose current pandemics and identifying the trends that can be noted to control future spread. The class also followed a number of scientific leaders in the RTP area that have focus in R&D, Marketing, Finance, Regulation, and much more!
